BRINKMAN TRAVEL AT MOUNTAINVIEW DRIVE
We
have gone full circle. From a humble entry in the travel business in 1979
we have spread our wings and traveled worldwide. We have adjusted to the
enormous evolution the industry has witnessed in the last 27 years and
adapted accordingly. We have had fun climbing the ladder and making money.
We won prizes, awards and recognition. From 1998 to 2006 the heritage
building at 15 Lyman Street was our home and castle. Because business went
well, we were able to share with the less fortunate. We also celebrated
our successes with grand parties and shared our achievements in annual
newsletters with you!
How
did we manage this? By working with the best people, continuous learning,
traveling and attending conferences, and with having top of the line
computer equipment, we were able to stay abreast of the latest
developments.
How
did we earn the accolades? We received our daily bread by having the great
privilege of serving you, our fine customers; many of whom have been with
us since our beginnings. We are tremendously grateful for having been
given the opportunities for making a difference by assisting thousands and
thousands of travelers throughout the years.
When
a neighbour knocked at our door wanting to purchase the Lyman Street
building, I knew the time had come to return to my beloved neighbourhood
in the south end. With the approval of the City of St. Catharines and the
Travel Industry Council of Ontario, Brinkman Travel moved its offices
during the Labour Day weekend in September 2006 to 3 Mountainview
Drive, St. Catharines.
Ingrid
Raakman, our dedicated employee of over nine years, and I welcome you
to the unique Brinkman Travel Boutique in a residential environment
just off Glendale Avenue. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from
9:00 to 5:00 and
other times by appointment. Because of advanced technology we are able
to work in a wireless environment and can be reached worldwide 24/7.
Throughout
the years, Ingrid and I have defined our niches and will continue doing
what we do best. Ingrid takes great delight in serving clients, be it for
a flight to the Netherlands, a group of friends trekking through Europe or
an adventure trip to the South Pacific. Ingrid is accurate, detailed and
knowledgeable, proving time and again, that the services of a good travel
agent go far beyond what computers alone can provide.
It
is my personal mission to work diligently on groups, cruises and tours for
those wishing an extraordinary experience. I love the camaraderie of
groups and enjoy the whole process from organizing to escorting. I invite
you to read further and familiarize yourself with the content, to attend
our educational and enjoyable travel seminars, and ultimately to come and
join me on the cruise, pilgrimage or tour of your choice.
We

Ingrid's desk
For the last year and a half I have enjoyed working from our new location on Mountainview Drive. I love to assist our clients with their travel plans, whether it is a destination wedding, honeymoon, family reunion, anniversary, or just some time away from our busy lives.
In 2007 I explored Southern Ontario with my brother and sister in law who visited Canada for the first time. Sometimes we forget how much there is to see in our own country. Wonderful train trips, coach tours, and customized itineraries are available for any age and any budget, from the East Coast to the West.
This fall I hope to visit Walt Disney World with my husband along with my nieces and nephew and their parents.
